Ronnie Brandon aka i-Ron Lion is a former business administration student at Radford University in Virginia. He minored in communication(speech) as well before leaving school early to study Africa and begin his humanitarian/civil rights activism work!
Born on the southside of Chicago, activism comes naturally."I was born 6 years after the King riots of Chicago, the city was healing and you could feel the after affects over the next decade!I always knew there was race issues going on in this country! It was natural to be a part of the healing process! My mother was instrumental in getting me started!"
Since childhood he has spoken in churches and at public events in school and around cities!
During January and Black History Month he recites the infamous "I have a dream speech" by Martin Luther King Jr. in various locations and with great passion!
"My mother wanted me to be a church pastor,so from a very young age I have been in the pulpit and in choir stands!I never became a preacher but I still love to recite poetry, scripture and speak in public! One of my greatest influences is Maya Angelou whom I met in high school and who shared some very powerful words of advice and encouragement with me after one of her appearances in my town!"
A powerful southern baptist type speaker himself,Ronnie is never a disappointment!
You can't go wrong by booking Ronnie Brandon for your next King's day or Black History Month event!
And if you're lucky he may even add a song or two!One Love!
